Hi all

under some unforseen circumstances I have come in possesion of an imported Toyota Vitz 1.0. The car is unregistered in the UK and has been imported from Cyprus.

While searching the internet for information on this car and the registration process I found this website. Absolutely Fantastic. So I was wondering if the experts here could help me out with the questions I have regarding this car.

First of all I have the Cyprus Registration Certificate. Also the shipping documents, Cyprus MOT, unregistering document etc. unfortunately all in Cyprian.

According to the Registration Certificate

Year of Manufacture is 2000,

Engine model is 1SZ,

Chasis is SCP100......,

and its an automatic.

No central locking,

no electric windows etc.

Country of Manufacuture: IA∏ΩNIA =========?????????? can anyone translate ????????

Also the Meter is only has KM/h.

so first question, how do i find out wether there is an immobiliser or not?????

Is it possible to change the meter or add MPH on it ???

Been reading all about the registration process. SVA, ESVA, Model Reports, etc. can anyone advice in simple steps what I should do ???

1. It does not have an immobiliser ;)

2. Country of manufacture is Japan, that's the Greek way of writing it ;)

Any documents you need translating give me a shout, i'm happy to help

its not a digital speedo, so how difficult is it to get it converted. Anyone know any place where I can get a km/h face for the speedo?

Nadeem, when they convert them normally, your current gauge will still be used, they just knock the 'k' off km/h ;)

Nick, good plug for your thread, but he doesn't need new dials ;)

What are you taking the speedo out for? Don't start taking it apart if you're thinking of changing the KM/H to MPH, leave it to professionals to do

  • 4 weeks later...

Hi,

That's the one I just bought off eBay.

Now I'm in the process of having it's SVA, Registered etc, but have no DE-REG docs. :(

Any help appreciated of how to obtain the documents and where to go in Manchester for the speedo change and fog lamp fitted.

Thanks.

No de-reg? Hmm well I know when my grndad brought his car over to uk from cyprus, it all got completed in the UK, as you are still allowed to drive on foreign plated for 6 months i believe? Can't help you for the speedo change and fog light though, sorry
