Very Quick Tyre Size Question

I have my new tyres waiting in garage, tyre size 215/40/17

Now ordering my wheels what size do i need on the width for a 215 tyre?

A-7"

B-7.5"

C-8"

new wheels must be at least 7.5 jj same as stock or they just wont clear the calipers IIRC ???

or are stock 6.5 jj ?? its been a long time i forget , i'll get me coat

standard tyre width is 205. i have wider 215 on my new tyres.

Anyone know the wheels size i need?

7 1/2 or 8. either will do fine. I got 8 inch with 225`s no worries. Your only looking at 1cm wjdth diference. So either will do.

Pretty sure its gonna be 7.5 But why not go 8" and get 235's!

just to let you know adam stock tyre size on the st205 is 215/50 R16. However this is a rare size and tends to be expensive if you can get hold of them, which is why most people swap to 205 on the stock 16" rims which are 7.5j width.

ah right! mine came with 205s on it.

Think i will be getting 7.5 as the wider you go the more expensive they are the wheels without tyres are £755 cheapest i found so far (17s without tyres)
