Silverstone: Awesomeness & "oh S**t!"-ness, All In O

As you may or may not know...today I had a trackday with my university club once again, but this time...at the Full GP Circuit at Silverstone!! Before i even drove around the track, just going into the track land i felt like a friggin' kid in a candy shop!!And cars-wise, this just **** outclassed goodwood....lamborghini gallardo, loads of caterhams & westfields, 2 porsche 911 turbo's, a renault clio cup car, 2 porsche 944 turbo's, a few fto's, a supercharged ariel atom (ppl who saw the clip of jeremy clarkson's face distorting cause it was so fast know the car), loads of bmw's (especially e30 m3's...more about them later...) and so on...

Now, the track itself is HUGE, its 50% bigger than goodwood was at 3.14mi or something like that, and its very tricky, high speed sections are mixed with very technical and tight slow sections which just create understeer o' death. but to give a general scenario of how the day went...it was WET. cars were spinning left right and center...red flag's all the friggin' time...and i discovered something important about the cynos - the day before i decided to rotate the tyres because the fronts were almost illegal and the rears are nearly new...so i swap them round...big mistake, especially as i mentioned, it was slippery.

so...how did i do? well first half of the day, i was OVERSTEERING like **** crazy, i couldnt control the car whatsoever. the first time i had a HUGE drift, and as you know, to recover you slam the throttle keeping the throttle pointed at the turn to " pull " you out...i did this a few times, slowing down each time cause i was ****ting myself. then, it happened...i span...at the first corner...and it was terrifying, i pretty much lost the rear, tried catching it, but each correction created a drift in the other direction and i just span and stalled...and i sprained my thumb because the wheel jolted on the rumble strip. anyway, i then decided to rotate the tyres to how they were and it completely changed the character...back to how it was at goodwood funnily enough! but yeah, understeer supreme still cause it was so greasy, but then i had one of the instructors on my last session and it really tidied up the lap for me...but yeah, overall, awesome day....and i think the next trackday is gonna be Donington...oh, and im getting my race licence at the end of march!

oh, and highlight of the day, i got to ride in my university friend's dad's e30 m3...specs? its got a bored out m3 evo engine, i think he said it was pushing about 250 - 270whp? anyway, stripped of EVERYTHING inside, dog leg gearbox...actually, ubik the specs, all you need to know was that it was FRIGGIN' AMAZING!!! seriously, i hated the cynos afterwards...the noise, the power!!! (it developed all the power AT THE REDLINE - 7000-8500rpm!!) and oh my god, it hurt my neck....the cynos was just a boring p.o.s after that! its the m3 with the red wheels, and it was amazing as hell...satan? i need you to trade my soul again...Shame no-one from any of the forums decided to come

so piece of advice? DON'T ROTATE YOUR TYRES FOR A TRACK DAY!!!! anwhoo, pics are below, enjoy:
