Chrome Rear Light Surrounds

I've just got myself a new car (mitsubishi FTO B) ) so now our RAV has become (to her way of thinking) the wifes! :eek:

This means she's now thinking of getting some of the enhancements to it I wanted, (she'd always pooh-poohed the idea before :angry: )

Anyway she's taken a liking to the chrome rear light surrounds.

Has anyone bought those off eBay from chromeyourcar? Are they OK?

Are the Toyota ones worth being double the price??

Make sure they are metal and not plastic from eBay. Some people class chrome as a 'finish', as in silver spray on plastic, not polished metal.

Theres a set of Genuine Toyota ones on eBay at the moment, and as said the non-gen items are usually cheap ones painted with the "chrome look paint" and doesn't last too long in UK weather conditions unfortuantely.

:rolleyes: I bought some chrome on plastic handle covers for my lexus from the states on eBay, they looked as good as the day i got them until i sold the car, about ten months.

Anyone else purchased the chrome rear light guards, in particular the eBay ones such as these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...p;rd=1&rd=1 costing £45? Then there are these stainless steel ones from Direct 4x4 http://www.direct4x4.co.uk/index.php?p=vie...;product_id=443 at £96 double the price.

So does the ABS Plastic chrome effect wear off and look tatty after a while?

Anyone bought the Toyota ones, how much were they?

Anyone bought any other chrome stuff for their RAV?
