How Can I Programa 2004 Avensis Key? Help

hi

i have a 2004 avensis and i need the key programmed to start the car. basically i lost the keys and a locksmith came out to make a new key... when he tried to program the key he could not do it. he took the ecu out to have it prgrammed but when he refitted and tried to program the key it would not work. i have since found the original key but because the ecu was wiped of the old data i can not start the car with the original key.

can anyone help me to sort this out? as toyota are talking about new ecu... etc
