18" by 7, with 35 tyres should fit no problem, but you'll probably get a decrease in acceleration, and a general change in handling which might not be desired... You could save the extra money between a set of 17s and 18s, and get a set of lowering springs instead?!

Oh, and welcome to the club matey! :D

keep an eye on your oil level in that ST, it may use oil at a rate of up to 1litre per 1000 miles. It even states it in the manual!

Just make sure it's kept topped up - This will normally require topups between the normal service intervals.

It will be fine as long as you keep it topped up

i think they are 18 x 8!?? would the extra inch make an interferance prob? cheers

the tyre size is 215/35/18

where dose the oil go though? every 1000 miles are we talking a small drop or a alarming rate? cheers

i lowered my last celica 40mm on 18s with no problems!

18's are too big, they affect more than the performance. Chassis are not designed for them and handling is not made any better! go for 17's with a 30 drop!

That's the big question, - it appears that the 7AFE engine uses oil in all the cars that it's in.

It isn't evident coming out of the exhaust, or on the spark plugs and it doesn't just leak out. According to Toyota "it just uses it". According to other people it slowly burns it at a constant rate which just adds up over time

Handling was amazing... but not the point, i had them for looks.

If you keep the rolling radius the same it makes no difference!

the tyre size is 215/35/18

Thats the size i had.. no problems even on full lock

Thats what i was thinkin a 1.8 st isnt for the peformance, i like the looks and ive seen them with 18's and they look really good. my only concern is if there would be any scrubbing or interferance with them as i want them on straight away :D

I don't mean to scare you with the oil issue, and you might be one of the lucky ones who it doesn't affect - just wanted to make sure you were aware that a lot of us have that problem with the 7AFE engine

Other than that the 6th Generation Celica is amazing! Like you I bought it for the sporty looks as were I use it I never get to drive fast. I have been more than impressed with the celica. Repair bills so far are just about non-existent. I had a bit of a problem with the brakes the other week but it seemed to fix itself! (but I'll be keeping an eye on them!)

It has to be one of the most reliable cars on the road
