Gt4 Rear Strut Brace Removal Or Replacement

Hi all,

I'm planning to buy a Celica GT4 - probably a fresh import of a 1996 Jap model. I'd like some more boot space, particularly as I sell guitars part time. Does anyone:

Know if it's OK to use the car with the rear strut brace removed?

or

Know ayone who specialises in custom strut braces, since it must be OK to replace it with one or similar strength but a different shape? (So it bends down to the boot floor and back up. I hope that made sense).

Thanks,

Dave

the 185 gt4 didnt even have 1 fitted as standard . i see no reason why removing it would be a problem , not as if you will be driving like a postman now is it ?

I reckokn GT4 Booster is right with what he said but I guess you have got to be careful about the insurance?? They like to riggle out of payments and if they noticed you had removed something like that before you rolled it on the bend (just an example - I don't tell fortunes  ) then they would probably use it to not pay up.

Just a thought
