20k Service Due Soon

Hiya

My 04 Reg Avensis is due its 20k service in the next month. Should I take this to Toyota to be serviced or will I save a packet if I get it done independantly? I've checked with Toyotal and have been told that it can be done independantly provided that only genuine Toyota parts are used and that the service book is stamped with a Toyota stamp.

Any advice will be greatly received.

I had my 20k service carried out by Toyota at a cost of £156. (2.0 D4D). I do not think the cost was too high. For me to to go an independent the cost of the service has to be significantly lower to compensate me for the uncertainity that I will not have any issues when I need to make a warrant claim.

I am being stupid? But how are you expected to get a toyota stamp in the book if it is not done by a Toyota dealer?

Personally, while it is still in the warranty I would just bite the bullent and get it done at Toyota - they will only use it against you come a warrany claim if you dont
