Need Help On Value

Hi, I hope you’re not sick of these

I’m going to be selling my Celica GT at the beginning of March. It was manufactured 31 dec 1995 registered mid 1996. Its Black with just over 110k. It just had new spark plugs, oil/filter cam belt at 90k front pads and front tyres at 100k and other bits and bobs. I got a toad cat 1 alarm with an additional tilt sensor fitted about a year ago. Think its the ai606. It has a stereo system with MP3 head unit and Vibe 10" sub/amp and an additional amp for the 6x9s. But im not bothered about selling the head unit as im only going to have to go and buy a new one. Oh and a brand new Battery.

The downside is that there is a slight knock on rough roads at low speed, think it's one of the Bush's. Also some inept drivers have managed to catch both of the rear arch's. i am going to tidy them up, but i did not notice them till recently. Overall apart from a bush or so and the slight bits of paint missing its a good condition car.

Cheers for any advice as im slightly confused as autotrader prices for about this mileage ranges from 2.5k to about 3.5k.

just noticed, im a gold member how do i get it to show? cheers

I would guess you would be realistically looking at 2.5k if you tidy the bits up you stated.

It's difficult looking at the Autotrader prices as you can't see what the car actually goes for - normally the cheap ones go at the price shown and the expensive ones get knocked down.

I am presuming it's a UK car - but then why would you get a cat 1 alarm when all the UK cars came with cat 1 alarms as standard??

Stereo proabably won't affect the price of the car so if you've got a cheaper one lying about I'd swap it first

PM Steve to get the Gold Icon showing

Realistically i reckon between £2ooo and £25oo mate , the market is pretty poor just now and celicas and supras are cheaper than ever . Check E bay you can pick up a clean 94-96 celica for around 2K

fair enough - I stand by my original amount then and reckon you could get £2500 in a private sale. If you got any more then you would be doing very well indeed

Do you think i would be best selling it without stating the amps/subs etc and see if they want to buy them as an addition. The thing is that i want a MR2 so the vibe sub/ amps and 6x9s will be no good to me.

I'd at least take the sub and amps out. They are likely to put more people off than they attract IMO.

yeah that sounds sensible, i just like a good sound system due to the ammount of miles i do. Prob will rip out the whole system and sell it with the original head unit or try and get a cheap one and put that in, will need something to stop me going insane until i manage to sell it. When i bought it, it had the original headunit, oh man i was driven crazy at the poor quality. it was ripped out within a day or 2 :)

Its worth no more than £1999 to anyone other than a complete idiot! Now there are plenty of these idiots around willing to pay an additional £500 its just a case of waiting for one to get in touch. The problem is that there are alot of nice cheap examples around so its hard to ask for good money. The good thing is that you have a Black GT and you would be suprised at how much people prefer these to say Red etc etc so get it all clean and put it in for more than your prepared to accept. I paid around £2000 for a very similar sounding car but with no problems and lots of history and new parts etc, in January.
