Thought Id Say Hi To Everyone

hi all thought id introduce myself just bought myself a celica gt with some nice little extras. dont what they are but hoping to soon find out so will keep you posted.

can anybody help me when braking and coming to a dead stop my brake pedal drops about 10mm and i hear whirring noise then a click followed by another whirring noise ive been told that it something to reset the brakes is this nonsense as ive been to see a fellow member who lives up the road and thinks it could be an adde extar but hes nnot sure as he hasnt got it on his and they are the same model.

but where his brake reservoir is ive got a black box with wiring can u help as im puzzled

Guess what, i have exactly the same noise when i brake, but it doesn't happen all the time only occasionally when i either hit the brakes real hard, or for some reason, when i'm steering and braking at the same time, like coming out of those multi storey car parks, i thought it was the abs kicking in but i'm not too sure of the noise as i've never had it on my previous cars and today my abs light came on while i was parking and didn't go off, untill i turned the car off and started it up again?

any help would be much appreciated as tis a bit worrying.

I'd say it is an Abs problem. Basically Black1 said it happens under hard braking and braking whilst steering, two things that abs is designed for, so ultimately I'd get it checked out esp seeing as the Abs light stayed on!

Ive not been to a garage for a few years mate as I know a good mechanic who picks my car up and drops it off for me(best mate). I will ask him and post some names up later today for you.
