Pre-facelift Clear Indicators Fitted!

So I fitted the lenses and took some pics:

After:2celica.jpg

What do you think? Personally I think it looks soooooo much better. The silver bulbs they came with were not good so they still have the orange bulbs in them, which you can't really see at all except from certain angles and certain light. Anyone know if you can get led's to fit and which ones??

Oh also a pic of my blue clock to go with the blue dash.

I did the interior light aswell but I don't like it - now if I want to read a map or whatever there's hardly enough light so it'll be going back to stock. and it reminds me too much of neons, not really my thing!

Cheers Booster for introducing me to Richard at Protocast, it's a quality product. I wouldn't mind a bit more of that blue stuff as the cigarette lighter is next on the agenda so if I can find some I'll get you some too

They look a lot better if you spray them black on the GT4 IMO.

They suit the car better, i think clear ones look out of place

If you go the website mentioned in the topic that booster linked then send Richard an email and he will get back to you with his contact details. You need to send him a cheque, I sent the cheque on a monday and they arrived the saturday. As far as fitting goes - it is fairly easy, and will take a couple of hours if you want them to look right. To remove the old lenses is in fact quite easy. Get a hairdryer and use it on the hottest setting and just run it up and down the lense for roughly 30 seconds and then concentrate on just one end for another 20-30 secs. Then try a prise the lense up from one end, it's best to use something flatter and wider than a flat blade screwdriver as it is easy to slightly damage the actual unit it's attached to. But even if you do it doesn't really matter, you aint going to really hurt it. You'll need to prise the sides open slightly to get the little notch past it's resting point. The glue will harden so it's then a case of using the hairdryer again in the middle of the lense, prise that up, then continue along to the other side - it's really quite easy.

If you don't get the glue too hot then it wont be that messy, 20-30 seconds is from memory, you'll be able to tell by just trying to prise it out.

The hardest part is to actually make them look good as the glue used is black and with a clear lense  The inside of my light unit was already silver but I had bought some chrome spray so I sprayed it. DON'T do what I did and spray all over the glue, it will look crap when the lense is on as i found out!! Instead try and pick as much glue out as possible using a screwdriver almost the width of the channel the glue's in and heat it slightly with the HD. A bit messy but definatley do it. The lenses do fit really well if you haven't bent the holder too much trying to prise the lense off so they should stay in without any glue but clear silicone will make it watertight. This is all I have used and they're fine, I only used it sparingly to seal the small gaps as I didn't want any to show through. Voila!

They've given my car a real facelift I think :) If only the rear lights were that easy!! From behind, I don't mind the orange too much, but from the side with the smoked repeaters and now the clear fronts they have got to go. Even thought about just spraying the bit of orange lense that shows on the side and leaving the rest but think it may look a bit daft from the side. Wouldn't know what colour to do it in anyway. So I'll probably be getting JDM facelift rears but have just forked out for those lenses plus I bought some wind deflectors which I haven't fitted yet but will look the business and it will mean I'll be able to have the window open and not get soaked from that blooming water when using windscreen wipers. :)

The rear lights take 10mins max to fit. Unless you gonna wait to find the late spec ones cheap 2nd hand... buy them here brand new for £115 with free P&P:

That's a pretty good price. Next on my list!!! Will I have no problem with the wiring as I have the rear fogs iincorporated into the cluster and also two bits of red light up with my lights and brakes. Am I explaining myself properly??? Really tired, that's what getting up and 4:45 everyday does to you!!

So when my red light on the very inside lights up ( one of which is my fog light) that would then be the reverse light!!

Can I just swap the bulb housing over to correct this??

The new lights dont have the housing for the rear fogs, but everything else should be fine. May need to just keep the old lights for MOT time... really takes under 10mins to swap... 3 bolts on each light unit and they are off, the bulbs just unplug in seconds and then just plug em in the new ones.

anyone from down hampshire fancy doing mine?lol

What u tryin to do? front indicators or rear lights?
