New 18ins Alloys...wierd Noise?

I would definately put the noise down to tyre noise.

We have many people come into the dealership complaining of a 'wheel bearing' noise.

On inspection the bearings are fine and its always the wheels, make,tread,tread depth etc etc etc. not that the owners believe us....until new tyres are fitted that is! :thumbsup:

Most common are the p zeros that are fitted to the 17inch Celica wheels (215/45/17) are usually very noisy and wear unevenly.

Thanks for that Moonstone Mart - I don't know if darvd is still following this thread but I'd still love to know if my description of the noise on my MX-5 on Wanli S1088 tyres is similar to his noise on the same tyres. darvd is the only person I've come across on any forum who ran the S1088s. The sheer intensity and volume of the noise still makes me a bit wary of it being tyres but it's just about the only thing left to replace. A big expense if it proves not to be tyres!
