Belts Noise

I have a 2003/52 1.8 VVti 5 Door, and I am absolutely fed up with the belts noise in the mornings or on cols starts.

The noise is so audible (as the engines are so quiet), as it makes me sound like my next door neighbours Mk1 Ford Escort!

What can I do to make the noise go away? Is this a common problem?

purchase some new belts. Sounds like they are worn.

Also cold mornings wont help.. the summer it may be a bit better.

Also (being very careful) while the belt is rotating touch both sides of the belt with childrens crayon. This may not cure it for very long though.
