:help: Can anyone tell me the best way to find out if there is any air in my coolant system? The reason i ask is coz i was out the other night with a friend and we noticed the temp needle had hardly moved even after a 30 min drive? Its a late spec 92 non tvis engine?

As all of my old corolla`s used to run around the half way point

But they were all tvis engines!Should i be worried

Are you using any water? Have you checked the water level in the expansion tank lately?

If it's not using any water then it's probably the thermostat stuck open.

I have a similar problem with mine. When i'm driving it, the temp stay's cold but if I stop and leave it idling for a few minutes, the temperature rises to half way and stops.

I think its the termostat but it doesn't seem to affect anything so I've never had it l looked at

you really should put a new stat in as asap , your engine will be running cold and using more fuel , it wont be helping things at all - toyota stats are a common issue where the clip that holds the springs shaft in place comes off , jamming the stat open . £ 17 ish dealer part , dont buy copied items when it comes to toyota waterworks
