Does anyone know how to get the whole unit out of the car? I have managed to undo it but the top bit which sticks through the panel of the car just wont go. Before I take drastic action I just wondered if anyon knew the correct way to remove it?

Hi there,

You can remove the stem by undoing the topnut and pulling the entire stem out. if the nylon cable is intact then I think you will have to extend the unit electronically to unwind the nylon.

To remove the entire unit remove the inner boot trim, undo the cable, electrics, drain and support bracket. Then undo the topnut and withdraw the unit from the boot

By top nut do you mean the silver ring around the plastic on the outside of the car? sorry to sound stupid but the only bolt i could see was the one holding the entire unit to the bodywork of the car, which was inside.
