Can I ask your reasons for specifying a UK? It'll be a long wait to get ANY UK 6 spd let alone 'the one' for you!

So many people say it's because it's got more power and better spec - but it's codswallop.

If it's for insurance then that's a more valid argument! :)

Not really, these days they cost largely the same to insure!

I personally think the J spec look better...... No stupid horns on the front bumper......

Have to agree there. Also the UK cars are soooooooo heavy compared to imports. Because the imports have more torque they can match the performance of the uk cars even though there is a bhp difference.

Also they are usually in better condition inside and out compared to uk cars because of the lack of salt on japanese roads and on top of that im sick of leather :P :thumbsup:

i saw that one but he wont accept 8.5k which is my extreme budget....

I have cash waiting and burning a hole in my pocket

Oh and the uk car has better turbo's, injectors, fuel pump and leather as standard. Plus cheaper to insure and built for our roads and weather conditions. I know the benefits from a uk car from my uk st205.....

 maybe am just stupid but as they are both toyota twin turbos wont the turbos etc be pretty much identical ?? My Jap celica is in much better nick than a 94 uk car , and i bet most imports are much cleaner than uk cars . When i get round to up-grading to a supra , i hope to get a clean import  cheaper n better i think.

The turbos are the same but the uk car has steel blades rather than the imports ceramic ones.

This means the uk turbos live longer but they are heavier so dont spool up as quickly.

Dan4 - Glad you have done your research, but the uk cars arent that much cheaper (if at all) to insure now compared to the imports. They used to be at one point but not anymore as most insurance companies have accepted that getting parts for imports is no more difficult than getting them for uk cars.

If you are 100% sold on a uk car then all the best in finding a good one

To be fair though if you buy a j-spec, seeing as almost all of them are decatted they will have a Walbro pump anyway - and the jap injectors are fine unless you're going big single (which I'm guessing if you're worried about spending money on a pump you won't be!!).

Don't you just love these regular j-spec vs UK debates! :D
