Niosy Pump

Hi all,

every time i put my foot on the gas i get a loud noise that sounds like a pump but i'm not sure. when i take my foot off it stops after about 15 seconds.

any ideas??

driving me a but mad.

its a 1998 GT4 Jap import.

sounds like the charge cooler pump.

its locatedunder the Battery (follow the charge cooler pipes)

could be the bearings are going.

might also be worth checking the fluid level in the charge cooler( should have a level sensor fitted, but they are prone to packing up and get jumped out)

Right!

I've opened the bonnet & listened for the noise but its not coming from the engine were i first thought it was. the noise seems to be coming from behind the dash board on the passenger side. you can't hear it from the engine, only from inside the car were it is quite loud.

any ideas???

Sorry!. been in again & it looks like it could be the Charge cooler pump. can you tell me what it does, what it will affect if it goes & were i can get one.
