I've recently bought an Aygo as a second car and I'm really pleased with it so far, its great fun, but in the recent cold weather as well as getting ice on the outside of the windscreen, I get it on the inside too. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and is it possible that the glass is thinner to save money, bizarre as that seems.

Not had that myself - sounds weird. Have you been making the carpets / mats wet and that is then condensing and subsequently freezing over night ?

All white this morning, but no ice on the inside...,

this must be a condensation problem wet inside as mentioned by SMW.

I had this with my 2CV when I slept in it..., but I do not think you slept in your car...?

Breath freezes on the windscreen sometimes until the heater has warmed up, bit annoying if the effort of scraping the windscreen has been made, but happens in other cars too.

Take care with preassure washers, was washing round the rear window, bit of water got in, not much, just enough to leave a mark on the light plastic surround.

Thanks for the replies chaps :D

Not been sleeping in the car, havent pressure washed it and the carpets are dry. Its not a lot of ice, just a very thin film of frostiness. I'll monitor it and get back to the dealer if it continues.

Thanks again.

In the Yaris I made the mistake once of leaving the windscreen air vents open, this meant that moisture came out of the vents into the inside of the windscreen leaving a decent sized frost patch on the interior of the screen! The heater soon removed it, but it puzzled me until I spotted the problem :!Removed!:. Another time there was a load of condensation on the front screen when I had again left the windscreen vents open instead of turning them to be facing the footwell or something so it could be the same in your Aygo maybe?

Just a thought ;)

try checking your rear passenger footwell (behind drivers seat) for water entering which will later condense on the screen and freeze overnight. I've read lots of postings confirming this is a manufacturing problem. Water only seems to get in when I drive out on a rainy day. I've had this problem since day one and have been unable to get the dealer that sold the car to me or toyota gb to fix it.

Tghis is not a problem specific tou the Aygo; I've had this on

my Ford Escort as well as on my Nissan 100NX and DeLorean...

Opening and closing a door is enough to get moisture inside the

car and the windshiels freezes over much sooner than the rest

because of its slanted placement; it cools down faster becase of wind...
