Dump Valve Spring Rates?

If im running increased boost rates (17psi) do I need to increase the spring rating in my dump valve?

I ask this because im trying out a friends Bailey DV26 dump valve, and it works nicely at low - normal boost pressures, but when I boot it and change up at max boost I can barely hear it at all, and some times not at all.

Any idea what is happening? and if a stronger spring would help? I know Ive seen stronger springs on the market, im guessing there for increased boost applications?

your problem could be the dump valve itself, Bailey's isn't the best choice for a GT-Four IMO.

were you using the one way valve on the vac line to the DV? if not the extra boost pressure could have been holding the DV shut wilst trying to open it at the same time (less vacum reaching the DV during gear change due to pressure change)
