Hiace Super Custom 2.4 Head Gasket

Recommended Posts

My Hiace has been diagnosed with a blown head gasket. I am not sure whether to go for a new gasket, skim etc or a new cylinder head!!! Wgat is the best option and how much should I expect to pay for the job either way? Please help.

It depends entirly on the condition of the head, Examine it, check if for warpage etc.. Did the car over head lots or was it driven lots on the blown headgasket?? I personally am not a fan of skimmed heads, but 9/10 times you can get away without it being skimmed.

I'd say check its ok, if it needsa huge amount skimming off, replace it!

Same engine, got a new head off eBay for £200, set it all up for about £120, did the job nicely, i'd recommend doing that rather than skimming yours!
