bless me father for i have sinned.....i own a mr2 mk2 rev 1 gti tbar 158bhp etc and i didnt manage to pull away that much from a ROVER!!!!!! i belive its a rover 45 ZT dont know much info about the car but thought i should have had better performance,want kind of gains do you get from fitting an air filter and exhaust or is it

keep the 2 they usually work better at higher end torque and higer speeds and you have to get used to driving one........dont get a rover though mr2 all the way if if you want more speed mr2 turbo ;)

go for the 3sgte conversion. other than that change all your ignition consumables i.e plugs leads dizzy cap and rotor arm this will ensure a good clean spark.

while the plugs are out do a compression test to see if you may have a head gasket problem, any garage will do this for next to nothing (it's a ten minute job). just give it a damned good service change all the filters and oil. if the oil looks pretty manky and resembles tar then i'd suggest a bottle of engine flush 10 mins before you drop the oil, but any decent garage will do this in a service. if you attempt it yourself buy WINNS engine flush nothing else all the rest are ******* personally.

fitting an air filter and exhaust shoul give you anywhere between 5 and 20 bhp depends on the brands. hope this helps.

I wouldnt get a turbo conversion just because yours aint the quickest.

as for the rover coupe...

not a bad car but at the end of the day it's build quality is **** so your best sticking with the 2

i once got told about a guy with a frog eyed sprite who had a very nice jag pull up next to it at lights. the jag driver was starin down his nose at the guy in the sprite. lights changed..... and the guy in the sprite absolutely smoked the crap out of the jag. but then hed stuck a v8 in it so it wasnt really fair :)

no tellin what the car next to you is like till they put some foot down in truth. sure ur 2 has more style tho :)

cheers for the coments guys dont get me wrong im not a sh@t driver and im not gonna screw the bollo@@s of the mr2 waited a long time to get one not gonna end her up in a ditch after a months ownership.still learnin to drive her and she's14 years old anyway just think ill appreicate the looks and personality of the car that most modern cars dont have
