Battery Change

I've noticed that my avensis 2 ltr 2001 seems to be sluggish to turn over lately. Well its done 55000 and still original Battery so I'm guessing It needs changing. Can anyone tell me if disconnecting the Battery terminals will effect any electronic parts such as Sat/Nav or alarm?

Had mine off when I changed the clutch, alarm made a chirping noise for about 3 secs then stopped, all fine when when it was reconnected. Sat nav defaulted to Km, radio & clock lost all settings & presets. 5 mins of button pressing sorts that one :)

When I changed mine. My auto window switches stopped working.

I had to reset them, using instructions found on here... :)

Good point! Mine did that also, drivers window wouldn't auto close, hold the switch in the close position for approx 5 secs after the window shuts & it should reset.

I had to do some, switch on and off of the igition coupled with dropping the window down and up again.

Something about resetting the 'limit switches' on the window.

A search will find the appropriate method :)

So the stereo's aren't coded then?

Cool. That's good to know for when I take mine out to fit the ipod adaptor.
