Hi,

Just looking on a website ealier, and you can actually buy a bolt on turbo and ancillerys etc specially designed for the ST202 3S-GE engine, and will not fit anything else.

Just out of interest has anyone heard of this before and does anyone know of anyone to have actually done it.

To have a good turbo setup you'll need bigger injectors, better internals, low comp pistons, new manifolds, new ECU, the turbo, an IC ..

SO much cheaper to use a GTE lump that has all this, and is designed to be blown.

Yep, aftermarket kits are only any good if there is no other alternative because the manufacturer doesnt make it.

If you had a 1UZFE (Toyota 4ltr V8) then a turbo kit is worth it because toyota never made a turbo'd version of this engine.

In the case of the 3SGE an aftermarket kit is a complete waste of time as toyota made a turbo'd version of this engine already - 3sgte.

Would be much simplier and smarter to have your 3sge swapped for a 3sgte.

Better still, sell your celica gt and buy a gt4, your'll get a much better car with 4wd and a turbo. Saves lots of hassle and headache and cheaper to insure.

It's probably just the turbo and manifolds from a 3s-gte. You can only run very mild levels of boost at 10:1 CR (with pump fuel), and by the time you've reduced the CR, you may as well have swapped the complete engine for a -gte.
