LOL, don't go FWD, you'll only get upset.

Fiats are great, they even come with a special box for all the bits of trim that fall off (and they will).

for 5k .. and 4 seats.

4wd - GT4, Scumbaru

Rwd - old school Merc .. Alfa 75

welshman i would love a Supra just a little to expensive to run for my liking. What about alpha 147 or A3 or something like that. Bit old man but need something more sensible.

Hate changing cars far to much choice!!

Just to give you some ideas of cars not mentioned...

VW Corrado VR6, Honda Prelude 2.2 VTec, BMW 328i Coupe, Nissan 200sx.

I think you would struggle to get a decent A3 at that price, there still pretty expensive. From a reliability point of view i'd steer clear of French and Italian cars!!

Hope thats helped

I'd not really be after anything FWD ..

But the Corrado I like. But a 2.6 SC'ed (isn't it) but no BHP .. WTF?

200SX would be good. How about a Gen6 Celica? Lord Ed's got one going cheap, and then spend the money on something else?

I'd still say have a good luck at the Corrado VR6... I know its fwd, and 200bhp ish isn't that much from such a large displacement engine - 2.9L, but i still think it's a great looking car and it has a bucketload of torque!

Also does 30-70mph (better representation of a cars speed than 0-60mph i think) through gears in 5.7secs!!

You'd easily get one for under 5k... tho how good it'd be i dnt know.

Other than that, if scooby's or evo's are your thing, get a Celica GT4.

Im 22 and have 2 yrs no claims and the cheapest qoutes i got for each (i want another car too...) were just over a grand for the GT4 and just over £900 for the VR6 - couldnt believe how cheap it was, 'specially considering its the same insurance group as a 200sx, and the cheapest i can find for that is £1250. I think its due to the fact some companies will insure the corrado as a classic (lancaster or Hastings, cnt remember which).

By the way, dnt get anything too sensible! Enjoy impractical cars while your young! Hire a van to take all your stuff to uni and back!!

Hope this helps, mike
