I know a pic has already been posted from another source and is of a black TS, but here is the one toyota has at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show:

Looks okay, but doesn't look very agressive at all considering it will have a 1.8L engine, so will be quite fast! It doesn't look all that different from a standard MKII Yaris in my opinion. With competition from the new Civic im not entirely sure it will sell all that well. Since a current 1.3L Yaris can cost upto £13,295 then the 1.8 TS will cost a few bob more than this. For £14,400 OTR you can get the 5 door 1.8 S. Considering the difference in the cars in of terms size, performance, looks, etc then imo for that kind of money then I would want the new civic. But a 3 door 1.8 civic will cost less than this and the 5 door does 0-60 in 8.6seconds, which is faster than the current TS and many people on this forum consider that nippy. The Yaris is obviously lighter than the civic so the TS will do 0-60 quicker (and depeding what 1.8L engine they use in the TS may have more bhp). But 0-60 isnt everything in a car. But if I was considering a new Yaris TS when they come out I would much rather have the new 1.8 Civic, especially since for TS kind of money you could probably get a 3 door sport when they are out. I know everyone wont agree but the new civic 5 door looks more agressive than the Yaris TS concept, which is pretty much the finished article minus wheels, and prob a few small things.

The 17" alloys look quite good on the TS but are blatantly just on there for the concept look, which is a shame! Its also a shame that they havn't got indicators in the mirrors as they look much better there, rather than ruining the lines of the car.

I wish people would stop comparing things that shouldn't be compared! Okay, it costs about the same but they are not in the same class of car, the Yaris' direct competition are things like clio's and punto's.:thumbsup:

Looks really nice - as with the black one, I really like the whole "Yaris TS" thing instead of T-Sport....

But I agree with Ryan, its in no way comparable to a Honda Civic at all - totally different class of car!

I agree the direct competition of the Yaris are things such as the clio, punto (if they can be called competition :P ), but since the TS is going to cost a fair amount, you could get a 1.4 or 1.8 petrol civic, possibly even the 2.2 diesal depending on price of 3dr civic and price of TS. Therefore in my opinion since they are in the same price category they will therefore be in direct competition. Obviously im not saying the whole range of both are in direct competition but due to the pricing overlaps then they will be in competition. They are both hatchbacks and since the yaris is trying to go for a big image and has gone up in price then it is even more so the case in my opinion. But obviously the Civic Type-R and Yaris 1.0L are not in competition I wasn't saything that. I was saying instead of the TS I would rather buy a 1.8 Civic Sport, since they could well effectively cost the same. But everyone is different, as they say opinions are like a$$holes everyone has one.
