Thats it, I am off for a beer.

It has a new/old crossmember and foglamp brackets although I had to leave the grille as I have run out of money

What do you think?

I have a real hatred for fog lights .. especially when it's not foggy.

@ Bibbs

Your hatred is understood, on the road. But in my drive when the car is on axle stands I can do what I please :)

Looks better than last week when I just had holes as the lamps didn't fit in the old brackets

@ Lord Ed

Now I don't get your post, is it me or has this thread got a bit random?

Which bumper?

Front Bumper - Facelift version is loads better. Started when as a result of front fog full of water I accidently bought a set of facelift fogs. Also the slam gap was uneven and there was damage where the fog was (Turns out it has had a bump, hence the new Xmember)

Cost: Bumper £30, Xmember & Brackets £52, Fogs £12

Rear Bumper - Had nasty scrapes on both corners. Had the opportunity to pick up a better bumper off eBay for £25 so decided to drill the holes for the Reversing sensors in the spare rather than wreck the cars bumper if it went wrong

Cost: Bumper £25, Reversing Kit £33

Both bumpers have slight marks the majority of which will polish out, but are an improvement on the originals and a fraction of the cost of having the car partially resprayed.

Hope this makes sense

cheers

Chrismillencolin - Makes good sense to me! I think the facelift is a MASSIVE difference, by basically modernising the front end completely.

Thats all I have to say and NO your opinion does not matter! ;)

looks very smart mate :)

Just thought I'd add this for you guys to compare and comment on. Personally I wouldn't go through the hassle of changing to facelift bumper as I like it how it is although opinions are bound to vary!

Glad you like yours as otherwise I might have had more competition on eBay. What you have to consider is the following problems

prefacelift.jpg

The bumper had to come of anyway, I had already got the fogs due to not reading an auction properly and I had the chance of a facelift nose ready painted silver.

Best thing about the pics you posted is the missus took one look at them and expressed a preference to the bottom one. "Good thing" says I "as that is your car and I have just spent 2 weekends fitting it"
