How Difficult Is It To Change The Speedometer Panel?

Hi all,

Could anyone tell me whether it's difficult to change the speedometer panel? Mine is black with green marks, I wanna change it to the T-sports white ... Could anyone tell me how to change it? Do i need special equipment?

not sure whether you'd be able to as doesnt the t-sport rev to over 8k whereas your 1.6 if like mine only pulls to 6,600.

Also the t-sport will have a higher top speed so the speedo MPH would be wrong too.

You can get dial kits to just replace the existing dials with white ones (or any colour you chose), most of these are designed specific for the car so they are setup correct sometimes even just slide over you existing dials.

I got a complete indiglow dial kit (which has white dials) for my AE92, found mine on e-bay. Can’t say seen many for corolla tho might have search a bit but theres plenty of kits out there.

As for taking dash out normally few screws holding it, not sure how yours will be mine was just 6 screws.

the don't make any dials for the 2002 onwards corolla, i have been looking for ages and can't find a thing, the only thing i thought i might be able to do would be to change the colour of the bulb behind the dials and this may make it shine a differnent colour.

is it worth to change the bulb? How much better does it look and is it difficult to do?

I know there is Varity of bulb colours that you can swap them with quite easy to change once got dial cluster out.

Need to find what type you have first I’m not 100% sure what’s in 2002 corolla?

As for if it would look any better I wouldn't know but they only few quid so worth try.

P.S you probably wont want the super bright bulbs in you dash!
