Yaris Headlights

Hi folks,

I used to use this forum quite frequently a year back while i was doing some things to my car. Back for a bit of advice if possible. I have a 52 plate Yaris, 1.0L GLS model. I have always complained about the strength of my headlights and given these winter morning etc i would now like to get them sorted out.

I see the blue ones etc advertised, are they illegal?

Could anyone please advise of the route i can go down? Possibly post some net addresses of where i could get them etc, it would be much appreciated.

Hope you are all doing ok

Cheers,

Pete

As far as I'm aware the blue ones are illegal... my other half has xenon headlamps on his Focus.... they're bloody bright, but not "you're nicked son" bright - I'm not sure how much Xenons would put a hole in your wallet, but if its brightness you want, they'd be the best bet I reckon!

However, its almost spring now, so the mornings are getting lighter, as are the evenings, so is it really worth doing it?

Hi,

Given the hours that i work i am always driving in the dark so i'm going to get new lights.

Possibly staying away from the blue ones, can anyone suggest what type i could get for my Yaris?

Any addresses, eBay etc? :help:

Hi Poolcue, I went to my local motor factors and bought some 55/100 bulbs which made a difference on main beam.Only thing is not road legal as main should be 60 not 100.

DEFINATELY try these....

Osram Silverstars (xenon gas)

Best bulbs i've seen (im on my 3rd set now - 3 cars, not 3 sets!)

oh - and upgrade the sidelights to cool-blues (look brilliant white when on - not blue)

Our yaris' lights still impress me in the dark country lanes!

i can recommend philips vision plus or Osram Silverstars, will def help u see better

if u like slight blue tint go for philips blue vision,

don't waste ur money on other bulbs that try to imitate HID lights, more for looks rather than

give u better vision

& cheapest place for bulbs is e-bay just type in the name of the bulb

Don't people get annoyed when a car comes towards them with super-bright headlights?

It really bugs me (almost as much as people who drive around with their fog lamps on)

I have to admit I really like the look of the pure white/blueish lights but don't want to cause accidents with stupidly bright lights dazzling everyone.

Given the fact that i am generally used to modifying my PC rather than my Yaris, how difficult would it be to replace the headlights, not too difficult i presume?

My driving instructor did it before my test, only took him two seconds.

I'm going to have a little look round eBay today, was driving last night and the power of my lights are just ridiculous.
