It replaces the standard airbox and allows more air (hopefully cold air!) to breathe into your engine, thus giving more power also giving a more meaty roar... B)

It wont be cold air unless you put in some ducting to take air from a cold section of the engine bay (inner wing, front bumper, etc)

The standard ducting isnt really up to the job.

Wouldnt worry about that to much, of course ducting is going to provide the coolest air, but an open filter in the t-sport engine bay, isnt much of a problem, go thrash the nuts off the car, and you'll find the intake manifold is cold to the touch, and air temps around the filter are always within a couple degrees of ambient. The main source of heat, the exhaust manifold, is tucked away at the back running under the firewall with a heatshield on it.
