I'm personally only going through and boshing siggies over 60 pix in height ..

I'd not seen yours. Have you a link back to TOC form the other forum? Which Mod did you get the okay from? (It's a problem that we are all on at different times and sometimes the info doesn't get passed on).

it came from knowlson mate, and i dont think it was over 60 high

Pop it back .. Appologies if it's pee'd you off .. as long as there is a link back, there should be no issues.

And I usually put a "60 pix high" comment in the siggy if I remove ;)

Sorry to post hijack - but Bibb's LMAO at the sig mate...

Pure class

Made me chuckle too, but theres not many toyota's here with/without turbos that could match my mates wussy civic vtec N/A. Them vtec motors are a tuners dream. Parts are so easy to aquire.

I know mate - but the irony is what Bibbs drives

I get fed up with two people .. the ones that slate VTEC who drive slower turbo'ed cars .. and those who rave about VTEC and have never driven a turbo :)

It's a little bit of irony that I drive a 2 litre vtec .. and it's regarded as one of the best engines/cars about.

can I have a picture in my signature 60 pixels high, but 10,000 wide? Nothing in the rules that says no...

Posted

yeah .. apparently so ..

the limit is there to just stop excessive rubbish at the bottom of posts.

Have a look at THIS link about a muppet writing off his M3 .. and look at the siggies .. I think they are excessive ..

Posted

god damn muppety beemer owners! Thats not a sig.

I thought you Bibbs was going to be one of them ignorant jellous anti honda kiddies. Not that an s2000 is a real honda anyway ;)

I've loved boost .. my MR2 was pretty nutty .. but it was no substitute to a well designed engine.

pic3a.JPG

And I'm loving VTEC .. but it's not a substitute for forced induction.

I just need boost and 9k rpm.

Or a pokie V. (NSX, TVR)

I found the S2000 had impressive acceleration but was lacking in torque..

Posted

No torque, totally agree .. about 160lb/ft .. it's very easy to drive around town. But get it over 6k and it's like a scalded cat.

You change the way you drive too .. I'm hardly ever under 3k rpm now .. first gear is good for 42 mph, so around town it's all first gear.

It's got over 100 lb/ft less than the MR2, but I still think on a proper drive, it's quicker. You have to wind it up though, and that's half the fun. Toyota engines seem to scream "stop" when revved hard, where the F20C just screams "more". Something about 9k rpm just makes it sound unlike any other car.

Posted

yeah, i cant really comment, it was only a 20 minute test drive a couple of years ago...

it did feel weird the first time you bury the throttle and fight the urge to change up as the engine screams at 6k and then just wait. wait. Impressive, but i need torque...

anyway, we seem to have veered off topic.... again

everything about these honda vtecs is designed for the hi reving application, they make lots of work but little power, but thats all good as they gear it to suit. I know what you mean 'beg for more', they just lap it up and scream with passion. No reason why you cant get the girl running some boost, get a convertor harness to make it run ODB-1 ecu's and i'll supply and ecu and map it if you get in on the rollers with wideband gear.

I miss boost too, it just turns round and kicks you in the teath, while NA vtec requires the lack of normal mechanical sympathy to keep the girl up at the top end of the rev counter where the powers at. It feels amazing though, like a proper race engine almost.

Done any tweeks to your s2000?

btw bibbs...i think i may have seen you on the m40 or m25 sometime not too long ago, saw a black mr2 kind of like yours but i dont remember the front bonnet spoiler...i kinda hung alongside for a bit, then you zoomed off...then i saw you on the hardshoulder tending to the car, dunno if it was you though

If you were on about the MR2, it's not moved from my drive since June last year.

is it still in bits?

is it still in bits?

The seat is in the house .. it needs a coolant bleed and the seat put in and it's done.

It's a bit untydy (needs a polish, and a hoover etc).

You still want it?

Make me an offer.

hmmm....

I was currently weighing up a 2001 RS4... but interesting..

Posted

I don't want as much as an RS4 (2001) .. that's for sure!

It's got the stock bonnet and no front wing on at the mo. No scoops either (both up north with Russ - drivers is knackered).

You know me, I'm honest, I'll let you know all the issues and also what's been fixed.
