Help! Dead Supra

Help!

I have a UK spec MkIV supra tha's driving me nuts.

My local mechanic recently removed the Battery for servicing and now the car is completely dead. (Battery refitted of course)

It seems that the immobilizer has kicked in and won't release. Have tried holding down the alarm release on the key, but still nothing. Does anyone know how to get the thing to let go??

Thanks

Reset the ECU, remove the ECU fuse for 15secs at least then re-try it.

I believe the ECU controls the immobiliser on a UK supra.

I think that there should be instructions on deactivating it in the hand book. On my UK 98 Celica GT i used to have there was a set of instructions with regards to resetting the immobiliser using the key and some list of things to do.

I know how you feel though as i did it to my old GT a year ago.

Totally agree with gt4_wrc. my MKII did exactly the same thing when i replaced the engine....take the fuse out of the ECU, replace and try again.......if dont work contact Toytota UK with your engine number etc they should be able to help

Will try that - thanks.

It seems to be related to the scorpion immobilizer. Does anyone knwo the model number of the immobilizer used in UK spec cars? Scorpion are happy to help, but need to know which model it is.

(It would help if I could find the thing - its hidden - for obvious reasons)
