Tasteful is the way to go. Mine is as above. Even got an Alpine HU, lol

If you paint everything it tends to look very tacky and chavvy.

Keep it classy. Keep it to a minimum.

I haven't even sprayed the door panels (where the window switches are). I am in two minds as to whether to do them. Other people spray those pieces, but also spray the surround for the door latch, the vents, etc. I personally think that is too much. But each to their own.

Here is mine

My car DOES not look chavvy, it looks nice, i haven't over done it! Ive sprayed everything that i could remove and it looks nice :P

I think it looks odd if you just spray the centre part, but like you said each to there own.

As I said. Each to their own. Its all down to personal taste. If you like what you have done, thats all that matters. If we all did the same thing it would be very boring wouldn't it.

I'd leave it as it looks no better than standard especially white ones! I thought about doing mine but I reckon black would look good as its not so in your face!

However if I had a sparyed centre console I would also do the panel surrounding the airvent on the right to balance it out. Like mentioned before if you do the door latches and electric window surrounds it look tacky as hell!

Frodo - is that an push button ignition where the dash light swith should be?????

Another thing I have noticed is that most people have there stereo in the top slot which I think looks better but I like the fact I dont have to lift my arm to change presets so left mine in bottom slot!

Nice stereo frodo, paid £10 for mine and its well impressed me. 60watts however is far to much for standard Toyota Speakers though. Cany decide whether to get some 6x9's hooked up to an amp or just whack a Box in the boot and lower the bass to the Speakers. Like 6x9's but dont like the look!

No, its not a push button ignition. Its actually where the importer has fitted the rear fog light switch.

Standard front Speakers are going to go, as they are poo. I am waiting on some adapter rings, so I can fit some 6.5" Speakers. Probably going to get a pair of Infinity's.

I've got a small Pioneer bass tube in the boot, and that makes quite a lot of difference, but it still needs the front Speakers changed.

I have my stereo in the bottom slot aswell, easier to reach and also because i have a motorised tv in the top slot which needs to be in the top to open without hitting of blocking the stereo.

You will find that the standard Speakers are good for general sound but not bass. If you but a secent stereo in and an ok sub your sound system will sound great.

Right, I know you can change the bass 1-6 and treble but if you press left and right arrow it changes the frequency etc. I want to know what thats actually does as it does not seem to do anything. Also Is there a recommended frequency???

Is there any chance you could copy it and send it to me, either email or fax or post ????

Apparently the frequency stuff is useful if you play quiet music, or classical, as it will enhance the quiet sounds. Or so I have been told. I don't notice any difference.

I use the bass and treble for the music I play

As im buying a Bass box of some sort this month I could do with knowing how to set the Subwoofer up, or does it seem straight forward?!?!

There is sub setting for the subwoofer, which you can then use to turn it up or down. I know this as I use it for my subwoofer. Very straight forward

you generally control subs using the amp rather than the head unit.

If you get 2 make sure you know how to do the wiring, (dual voice coil subs wiring for example is more complex)

Adam I know what you mean but this is a seperate function controlled through the headunit. I just thought it must be there for a reason so why not find out how to use it whilst I know someone with a manual. I used to fit stereos when I worked at Halfords in my youth, and thats the last time I mention Halfords on TOC
