Need Alarm Info

I have acquired a Celica 6th Gen with factory fitted TVSS IIIB alarm. The car has come with auto-arm enabled on the alarm and I want to disable it (don't mind the rest of the alarm but auto-arm really annoys me).

Hence I need the programming procedure for the alarm. Can anyone help out? Is there a workshop manual for the alarm system kicking around somewhere?

Thanks!

Don't know much about the alarms I'm afraid... Take it down to Mr T, prob won't cost any more than a tenner to sort it out (unless its there by design).

Have tried ringing a few Toyota garages locally. Most have said "er... dunno". Someone must know somewhere...

There is a better user manual I found online that say auto-arm is optional - but it doesn't detail how to change it (apart from saying take it to a garage).

I think it depends on the exact model of the alarm. There was a "VIP" version which you could change options on, otherwise AFAIK you can't change anything.

You can check if you've got the one that can be changed quite easily. Just pull the gear lever surround off. You will find the Alarm control Box underneath. If it has dip switches on the side then you can change the settings otherwise I guess you are stuck with it.

If you do find the dip switches let me know and I'll dig out the instruction manual for that type alarm
