Shattered Rear Window

Hi all, My friend was driving home tonight and suddenly the rear window in her 2004 Rav4 S just shattered. No other car, rock, large bump, or other item was involved. Apparently there is a crack that runs the full length of the left and right side of the window and the entire thing is shattered. I use to own a VW so I am aware that this could happen but haven't heard about it happening in a Toyota product (a minor reason why I bought a Camry). Anybody heard of this? Thanks!!
