Need some info

Im after increasing the boost, its standard at the min and just wondering whats the best thing to do.

Friend of mine has a pulsar GTI-R, hes just joined two pipes together and its now boosting at a BAR. Dont think you can do that on a st185 tho ive looked.(or can you some how)

Whats the best thing to do (get), i dont want anything OTT, still want it reliable but with a bigger PUNCH!! :help::unsure:

Firstly I woud do a few other things before you start fiddling with the boost.

1. Get a decent Exhaust system and cat replacement downpipe.

the downpipe really does make a hell of a difference both to turbo spool-up and overall engine power.

2. Sort of a decent induction system.

Once you've got the engine breathing properly then it be able to make full use of any increase in boost pressure. There's no point shovelling in more are if the exhaust can get out properly due to restrictions and similarly if you've got restrictions in the induction side the turbo's gonna be working harder to pump the same amount of air.

At the back of the manifold, down a bit there`s a blanked off stub. Just remove the rubber blanking cap and plumb it into there. Bit fiddly but it`s probably the best place to put it, It won`t interfere with any other vacuum operated bits n bobs and gives a very accurate indication.
