My New Car

I got my new Yaris T Sport yesturday and am very happy :D

I gave her a wash, clayed certain areas that were minging and polished the whole thing (paint was a bit cloudy and horrible!)

its come up well, and I think it looks fantastic - got a few stone chips but nothing major.

in fact, it snowed overnight and it already looks minging again

Haven't a clue what tyres they are, they look alright, sort of sporty! - not really given the car major grief yet round corners - need to get hang of the handling, and this evil thing the car does in excess, called "body roll"

I'll no doubt find the limits properly @ an airfield soon enough but first I need to research on whether the car is actually up for this kind of abuse! might need new brake fluid first, pedal doesn't feel quite as crisp as it could be..

Will stuff some Toyo TR-1's on (Had them for the last car) before too long no doubt, depending on how good these ones are or not.

Saw Biffs today and woah, no plastic strips. looked so clean.

Might do this, but if I back-to-black them enough they'll blend in on the black car so I might (read as: probably will, as im really lazy :P ) leave them on, as they do offer a lot of protection for car park crap :( people are so careless.

I am not entirely sure about the bumpstrips, I generally hate plastic on cars - prefer it if its all body-coloured stuff, but seeing as its black I'll probably leave them on, just have to back-to-black them every time I wash it. They blend in well enough, for me not to care too much. :)

I used Meguiars for that wash, and auto-glym super resin polish :) I was impressed with the outcome.

Washed it on saturday using Autoglym shampoo and its not half as good, definately will be making the switch to Meg's, that gold class shampoo is damn good stuff on black cars!!!

When its warmer, I think I'll be giving it a wax too (probably will use the Meg's tech wax is it called?) to make it a deeper shine if I can really be bothered i'll clay it a bit more too, I've got the Meg's quik clay but I only did the odd bit, that was a bit minging. Your right it doesn't stay clean for 5 minutes

I imagine the gold stays clean for quite a while? bump strip suits it actually, breaks it up a bit and its contrasty!
