Windscreen

That makes the water bead off my windscreen whenever its been into them for work, and means that I dont really need wipers at anything above 40mph...

it does though, seem to wear off after a few weeks and I'd like to keep it like that if possible

Not sure what your dealer uses,it may be a high gloss rinse if they have washed your car.

but get yourself some rain x,

make sure you keep using it though, as the more layers you have on it gets better

Also PIAA do silicone wipers if used properly they do the same as rain x.

kimi x

ive tried rain x myself and found its pretty pants on the windscreen... just seems to smear no matter how hard i buff it away!

does the job on the sides and t-bars though a treat as they dont have any interfearance from the wipers

as for the screen ive never found a product that does the job properly, including the likes of Autoglym and Meguires yadda yadda...

the best i can recommend is the goood ol housewife remedy of an acidic based substance like vingar for taking off the grime (dilute alloy wheel cleaner is a good sub aswell) then just use a good quality screen wash and good quality wipers

dont use TFR either as it sinks under the rubbers and gaps around the screen then foams up on the slightest hint of rain!

The trick with rain x is to wipe off the excess with a clean cloth,

then with a spray bottle spray with clean water onto the windscreen,

and then use a paper towel to wipe off the mist, then buff it up.

it is difficult in cold weather

dont think its what the initial poster wanted but turtle wax do a spray bottle thing that really cleans windows a treat, and monitors, and anything else with glass. dont think it beads water but it cuts thru grime and traffic film like jack the ripper with a lady of the night. its available at Halfords also, i can get mine out and post the name if anyone wants. the stuff would certainly make a window ready to be treated with something else very well and the bottle lasts ages....only use a bit at a time for comparitively large area

If you have any clay left from detailing the paintwork you could give the windows a going-over to smooth off all the junk before appyling whichever liquid you select.

We use rain away from Mer, comes in two bottles one you put on the windscreen, the other in with the screen wash, we only have one wiper on so the more help the better

what you will have to do is.

1, clean windscreen completley using a pure white toothpaste this will get rid of oil grease oxiditation and also give the cscreen a smoother look.its what proffessionals use.rub in using a clean wet cloth or as i use a scouring sponge.before it dries hose of.

then either use raines or any other product thats beads the rain.the trick is a very clean window.

on the inside scrub with a vinegar solution and dry with news paper black ink variety.straight up it works

cheers ray
