Hi,

Which of these mp3 player head unit is better (under £80)? (or any mp3 player head unit from other website.)

Is it better to get an mp3 player like ipod and connect through connect2? or get a head unit?

thanks for helping.

I think i remember seeing a headunit for £79 that had a flash card reader and usb built in, that would be a good idea for you. But if you already have an ipod or similar, get the connects2 adaptor

It's £10 over budget but I recently fitted a Pioneer DEH-30MP and it's great. Plays MP3 CDs, and has an aux input for connecting anything else (mp3 players etc). It also has tons of settings to tweak.

I can't remember the site I ordered from but most places seem to sell it for around the same price (£89.99)

Not bad!

That's the one :)

Although I did remember after I posted that if you wanted to fit it neatly you'd have to get the Fascia (£38) and the double din unit (about £20). You could stick in your coin tray though if you don't mind it being slightly less neat..

Yeh the fascia and the double din adapter will be needed if you don't install it in the coin tray which looks quite rough to me. You'll need the wiring iso adapter however you do it though.

wow, so !Removed! expensive! I am broke already.

I only want something to play MP3 that will cost me less than £80 in total (hopefully including installation), cant afford to pay more than that.

Install it in the coin tray then, buy an iso asaptor off egay for about3-4 quid instead of ££££££ at halfrauds

My dash had a cassette player and a Toyota CD player underneath, and for a while I had my new head unit fitted in where the CD player was and it didn't look too bad. I decided to do it properly though partly for security and partly because I usually go for the chapest option so I decided to do it properly for once!

Have you got an iPod or anything? You could go for the Connects2 adaptor for £50...

(Out of interest, where in S.Wales are you? I'm between Swansea & Carmarthen)

I have a Creative mp3 player. But i dont like to take it in and out of the car all the time. And the Battery life is a problem as well.

I am in Swansea.

If you're not too fussed about sound quality you could get an FM transmitter thingy. I got one before I fitted my head unit and it's ok but the quality isn't amazing. I've got a Creative player as well but I never bother connecting it up because it's too fiddly to skip tracks etc.
