Trying To Decide On An Exhaust

on choice is the apex'i N1, the blitz nur spec and the greddy power evolution.

I dont understand about all the curves in the first 2 where as the greddy just comes out straight. I thought that getting the exhaust fumes out asap is better for the car?

What do you guys think? what is best for power? i've heard the tubbys with the blitz and loved it, but performance wise i just have a few doubts about the bends.

going back to Hong Kong to buy some cheap cheap bits on sunday so need to decide soon :P

p.s a bung (in the end to make it quieter) with a kit would be preferred as i dont want to get pulled over too much.

pps REALLY not a fan of twin exits

If you want simple, a buddy club is the best .. it's just a pipe.

Have a look at Apexi bungs .. they open up the faster the airflow (so quiet for about town).

I'd go custom. I have for the s2000, and I could get it how I want. And it cost about a 3rd of what the pro exhausts cost.

alan... what a legend :)

yeah, any bloke who does his own engine swap, a brake swap and then has to rebuild the rear of his car (driven into) the day before Nur :D

So far this year for him, it's been making 2 exhausts, a front lip, a front bumper, a set of brakes, 2 seats, a bonnet .. he's still got to finish his car (stereo, Battery re-location), put a spoiler on mine.

I've changed my pads, wired in a VAFC, 2 RSMs, a Bee*R :D Oh, and I might do my brake lines :D

He's got a welder and a grinder .. I've a soldering iron and tape :D

Hey hey!

leve it out I will blush :P

Jaxx, No worries dude! Im hoping to do loads of laps this year so would be glad of the company! would like shotgun in your tubby aswell dude if thats cool?

Yeah its been a busy year and the poor weather has been very inconsiderate!

I now have two CRX's, One with a mint Shell which is completely standard and the white one ( which will be going to Nur )

At the end of the year the two will be put together to make a nice mint CRX!

Im really looking forward to seeing Bens S on the track though, Its turning out to be pretty mad!

Im Privelaged that he trusts me with with it he he

Oh! Zebidi,

I take it you want a nice single Exit that is pretty much from the Cat back with as little bends as poss?

Hayward and Scott have excellent reputations for building outstanding quality exhausts but they don't look as good as some of the off the shelf exhausts like the Blitz etc.

The thing is, With the pipe having as little bends and being as short as poss means it will be extremely loud!

Now If you put a bung in then it will reduce the noise immensely but it will also reduce airflow.

The Blitz has quite a long track with a few bends ( lovely mandrell bends BTW ) That will help take the edge off the noise but because of the quality of the bends it doesn't restrict airflow too much.

It really depends on your compromise between power, looks and ummm noise legality :D

but I would say If noise and legality is not an option then H&S all the way!

aye the 5zigen is lightweight and loud, pops and bangs a lot especially if you gut the cat at the same time. had it on my last tubby and was very nice

i've got an rsr on my new tubby at the mo and that is very loud, sounds like a stock exhaust but a lot louder and even slightly louder than the 5zigen i had

for looks I think you can't beat the Nur Spec (what I have now) .... for sheer crazy sound and madness, you can't beat the Buddy Club Racing Spec II (what I used to have).
