Steering Gone Funny Again

lo,my steering has acted up again,i posted a topic a few month back saying the steering went haywire after i'd washed it and went to put it back in the garage.well its done exact same thing ,after a good wash i started her up went to manauvre and the steering felt like it was slipping all over the place.

whats getting wet? its ok when dry but it still makes you paranoid when driving at high speed :eek:

It`s probably the drive belt slipping. Water is a lubricant remember. Although not a very good one. :lol:

1/ Make sure the belt tension is right.

2/ Make sure the belt is in good condition.

Belts may look ok but they do deteriorate with age and can harden. This in turn makes them less grippy, :thumbsup:

yeah i've been having the same problem in the wet, its a pain every time i go through a big puddle, which is annoying, because my carpark at work floods everytime it rains!!

I have had this before on a previous car, an old shape BMW, so if anyone has any solutions, i'd be gratefu, as i'd just accepted it is a fact of life.

if it's only occasional, put some talc on it. I've the same prob and this is doing fine till i have a chance to tighten the belt
