What do you think of mods like these guys? Are they a waste of time or un-noticeable gain with maximum fiddling about and messing up engine or a great buy?

Surely if the proper SuperChips were THAT easy to install, they would'nt charge so much to do so as other garages would offer it cheaper to undercut them.

Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers

wow - what you reckon, at least a month since ive seen one of these

its a resistor to fool your O2 sensor into telling the ECU the engine is cold, hence runs it lean...

It makes it feel more resonsive, without improving performance, but makes it drink fuel and burns out your O2 sensor too...

think of it as driving around with a manual choke out...

Yeah, thought as much.

They must be selling though, reminds me of an 'Only Fools And Horses' episode involving bottled water!!

Or simply using the placebo affect, telling people they are in a faster car often makes them think and feel that as they are concentrating on what they 'actually are' feeling more. Hmmm, fancy going into business anyone?

Peckham springs, i remember that episode. But yeah why are people still selling these, theres hundreds on eBay. A guy at work got one for his 1.8 vectra and insisted it was a superchip. A few weeks later his exhaust tip was burnt to a crisp and fallig apart due to all the extra fuel.
