im after a new car and i am thinking about buying a starlet GT EP82. i have done a bit of research on the cars but i havent found anything negative about the cars ! Could anyone tell me are there any common problems with the starlet GT, what is the availability of parts like and are they expensive? also could someone tell me if this sounds any good..... i have found a Starlet GT EP82 on an "N" reg with 70,000 miles on the clock going for £3999 and it looks in good nick, is it worth it?

if someone could help me out that would be awsum, cheers : )

70,000 miles seems a lot for a £ 4k Starlet turbo. Is it miles or kilometers? Dial will read in KM.

Parts - some cheap. Some expensive. Visit fensport and starletturbo .co .uk for some price lists for common parts

Common problems - previous owners not treating them right.

Get insurance quotes first.

i was ( not any more ) selling my starlet gt 67k miles for £3200, i have had no real problems getting parts, only porbz is that they are a little rattly, cv joints can go, not to much bad with them, try elephant for insurance am 18 been driving a yr and its costing me 1000 quid in my own name.

ats no worse than any other small turbo car.

its a relatively highly strung engine and drivetrain so if not treated right from day one can be problems.

only problems ive had has been with a cv joint and two cv boots. mine is a 1991 GT

 Start it dead cold and look for any smelly smoke - should be NONE. Auto's last better than manuals, which can get abused. Use only best 10W/30 oil and new filter every 3000km (2.5 litres doesn't cost much. Also FRAM PH4967 filter). Trans fluid every 20 000km. Great cars. Had a'90. Now a '96 EP91 with Turbo-Timer. Great. :D
