6.5 definately fit with an ET 37. If you are going to try and fit 7's you will need to reduce the ET figure down to possibly 25 so that the wheels do not foul the suspension arm. The downside is that the wheel will protrude outside the line of the car which is illegal in the UK.

You may need to get arch extensions.

Hope this helps, but really the only real way of knowing is just to try it!

OK! Thanks. I don't want to do any major changes to the car so I guess I have to find some other alloys then :( Maybe you guys can help me find something similar to the Miglia HT3:s that would fit?

Aren't Tommyguns SR800 7x16" ? If so where there something done to the car?

Would an 6,5x15" or 6,5x16" with ET36 work?

That should work for you, use 195/45 with the 15''s and 195/40 with the 16's. This will give you a similar rolling radius to standard and therefore wont affect the speedo or acceleration performance.

so does mine affect acceleration and speedo reading? 195/50/15? cos they are thesame size as the standard ones (radiouswise)

If the standard tyre is a 155/65 R14 then by fitting a 195/50 R15 when doing an indicated 70mph on the speedo you will actually be doing 72mph. This is because of a 59.38mm increase in the circumference of the tyre.

In theory your acceleration will be slower but hardly noticeable.

The original 155/65-R14 has a diameter of 55,71cm

195/50-R15 has a diameter of 57,6 cm This is above the maximum tolerated in France.

195/45-R15 has a diameter of 55,65 tolerated in France

The min diameter= 54,87cm

The max diameter= 56,55cm

Gives the following tolerated tyres:

165/60-R14

175/50-R15

185/45-R15

195/45-R15

195/40-R16

Thanks pug bug! if the speed is affected at 2mph in 70mph then there is very little difference in acceleration as you said! wouldnt be noticable if i raced another aygo with standard tyres!

the thing is a modified car is never complete and the cash flow could keep going forever but in the long run the 16's will probably be a better option. Think I'm going to do the sound and tinting first though (for security) and then the wheels to complete the look.

Wouldn't suggest tinting.

I know some one that had tinted windows as standard on a jeep. took it for its first MOT.He had to pay to get them removed. Some new thing in the MOT saying that front tinted windows aren't allowed

Just having rear tinted windows is a bit pointless and doesn't look good.

The wheels are 16 inch with a 195/40/16 tire

Have done nothing with the car...

Is the alloy width 6,5 or 7?

don't know, 195 milimeter

No, that's the tyre width not the alloy width.

The rim width is usually stamped on the inside of the rim or look on the original box as it will be on there.

I haven't shown you guys my new Rota J.SPL rims yet so here are some pictures.

Had to modify the calipers by cutting about 2mm from them to get the rims to fit.

As you can see from the third picture it's a really tight fit.

nooo make them red ,they will do well with the red side sticker !black would loose the definition of the rim!

I have thought about getting the calipers sprayed. If I spray them they definitely will be red like the vinyl.

Maybe I get it done them when I change the bolts to chrome ones. :)
