£100 here, pretty much what I thought really....

Mine's £110, the same as it was when I last renewed, unless I'm doing something wrong, surely mine should be the same if not cheaper with it being a 1.0?

Yours will be done on engine size mate and not emissions - cant remember the cut off, but new reg cars are done on emissions and older reg cars are still on engine size, so thats probably right...

Harsh though - just checked for the Focus and thats Band F so £190 smackers for the year!!

Ah, fair enough, I'm not going to complain anyway, I don't think £110/yr is too bad.

I think the cut off date is 01 march 2001

anything before that date is priced on engine size and anything after is on the new RFT rules or something like that

From what they were saying it was the 4x4 owners that were going to get spanked but from what ive seen everyone who owns a car post 01/03/01 50% + will be worse off

Correcto-mundo Stevie Wonder! :D

The date is indeed Pre March 2001, and the split is 1549cc.

Post March '01, are based on emissions.

I save a whole £5 now!!!

I'm confused

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for FN03 *** are:

Date of Liability 01 04 2006

Date of First Registration 16 04 2003

Year of Manufacture 2003

Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1298CC

CO2 Emissions 133g/Km

Fuel Type Petrol

Export Marker Not Applicable

Vehicle Status Licence Due to Expire

Vehicle Colour SILVER

Vehicle Type Approval M1

The information contained on this page is correct at the time of enquiry.

Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle

6 Months Rate £55.00

12 Months Rate £100.00

If I collect my remind from Manchester it says £105.00, so can I still get the £5.00 discount?

Ridiculous...........I really don't care how much mine is (well, I do, but i don't if you get what I mean?!)

If Mr Brown's idea was to persuade me out of fast (read petrol guzzling) cars then he's completely failed. An extra £25 a year (£2 a month) is hardly going to make me rethink running the Celica (now £190p.a.) since I spent £20k buying the car.

As far as I'm concerned, I'd probably pay up to £500 a year in tax if it meant I could drive the car I wanted, and frankly as my ability to pay for more expensive cars increases, so does the price elasticity of demand, so £1,000 isn't going to hurt once you buy a 911 for instance.

Just goes to prove that labour is completely money-grabbing, with no clear thought process. All it does is muddy the waters and doesn't tax gas guzzlers at all (which incidently are already being taxed through tax on fuel, of which they consume more anyway!)..........they've just p*ssed off a load of Focus drivers.

Rant over, sorry!!
