first off, introductions.

the name's Ian, Aka Dub-Se7en. had my toyota for about 2 months now. it is a green starlet sportif with a 1.5 paseo engine fitted. love it to bits!

anyway, i've managed to lay my hands on a turbo engine, box and loom for it and there were a few things i wanted to know before i attempted the conversion:

* what grade oil do the turbo engines run?

* are the standard 1.3 cambelts the same as the turbo's?

* will the standard driveshafts fit the turbo gearbox?

* do you think the standard rad will be up to the job?

many thanks!

10w-30 or 10w-40 good quality oil. Syntheic preferred

Cambelts are same 4e-fe / 4e-fte

standard driveshafts should fit unless you have a LSD equipped box. Turbo driveshafts are bigger diameter - must be for a reason...

Standard rad - should be ok

you'll need map sensor, injectors and ecu from donor car, plus centre exhaust section

Toyota or various people scrapping Starlets.

Before you fit it, give the engine a good clean, treat it to fresh oil and change cambelt before fitting. May be worth a new clutch as well, 80k is moderately high and it may have led a hard life.

is the map sensor the same one as fitted on the ep86 toyota?
