Hi, i have a 1.3 gli 1992 saloon corolla. It seems to drink alot of petrol i just about get 75miles to £10 of petrol that is driving properley. The car has serviced regulary and has 101k on the clock.

Do any of these product like redex, WYNNS FUEL SAVER FOR PETROL , stp. etc... work

I have brought a mini bottle of redex from halford.

These products will not damage my engine or anything???

Any recomedations on saving petrol??

Also i had the cambelt changed at about 55k its now got 101k when is it due again.

Its a fantastic car, still has orginal brakes, gearbox cluctch etc... very reliable.

Any advice is appreciated.

thanks

£10 buys About 2.5 Gallons. So 75 Miles on 2.5gal. = about 30mpg. If all your journeys are town driving or short trips then that could be about normal !

yeah sounds about right to me, dont forget your tenner does not get much fuel at 90p odd a litre. you need to work your mpg out by filling your car up till it stops. then take down the millage or reset your trip meter, drive about how you normaly would do on all the normaly routes and roads you take. when you have used most of the fuel, fill your car back up intill it stops again and note down the millage and the amont of fuel put in the car, not in money in litres. then post the rusult on here and i will work out your mpg. to do it off a tenner of fuel is just guess work as when do you know you used your £10? just off of a fuel gage? also like Bos already said its only about 2.5 Gallons
