Hi All,

Just bought myself a Rav 4 D4D XT-R, 3 door in dark grey. It's a 55 reg but only 12 miles when I bought it. I am very pleased with the way it drives. I've never driven a Rav before and I love the smooth way it does everything. I am happy with the speck, it has climate, sunroof etc. My last two cars were silver and black so dark grey makes a good change. I don't need the room the 5 door offers so went for the 3 door which I think looks great.

I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now and I think the vast majority of owners are happy with their Rav's. I notice there are some posts that refer to d4d's losing power. This seems to be a common fault with a few manufacturers 2ltr diesels. I know that the Ford 2ltr tdci has a similar problem that appears to be the EGR valve.

I've had mud flaps fitted and mats from the dealer and thats all at the moment. I'm thinking about a tw-bar and appreciate the info on previous posts on this subject.

Thanks to everyone for making this a friendly and informative forum

John.

Hi John

Welcome from a fellow newbie.

We bought a 3-door brand new XTR (petrol) 4 weeks ago.

We both love it. It handles like a dream, is smooth and it looks great. My wife loves it too and it is the only car we have owned where we have argued over whose turn it is to drive it!!

Have Fun

Old Bexley (Rich)
