Anyone know if the power difference is huge / if the rasping noise is greater on the decat? cheers all, yet again.

I would doubt if there was a huge difference but I can't be sure as I have never experienced either!

I wouldn't of thought theres a great difference between either. The de-cat should however let gasses out quicker, thus giving it the edge?

For raspyness listening to the sound clip with the fuji you liked, that was running ENVY's sports cat! Raspy as you need that one! Also passing the MOT still makes the sport cat worth it imo. Decat will be a bit better but honestly you shouldn't notice unless your running serious power (the difference between a sports cat and a decat i mean)

Ok Earpl has a decat and I have a sports cat. Earpls revs slightly higher and his drop off powerwise is maybe 350rpm higher.

I have an HKS backbox and Earpl has a fuji. Mines is deeper and more pronounced ... but Earpls is probably louder ...

The major difference soundwise is on idle - Earpls sounds much deeper and more pronouced ... mines is virtually silent on idle.

Now ... theres Chuck04 ... he has the sports cat AND a fuji - his is the loudest yaris Ive ever heard! Ive come to the conclusion that there is absolutely no baffle left in his backbox!

Knightrider on the other hand had a decat and HKS backbox and was loud - 16 seconds dead on a 1/4 mile ... so I think that speaks for itself powerwise

soooo ... a decat I think has marginally more power, but isnt neccessarily the loudest ...

.. well thats my opinion anyway!

Mines a megan manifold, Envy Sports Cat and custom backbox... it's damned friggin' loud! Though nobodys heard it, so nobody knows yet!

It's got a baffle in at the minute and it's still loud as hell... more raspy than a rasp! When the baffles out nobody on the streets can stop turning to see what's making the noise... the sonic boom pulls their heads round!! Hehehe! (Shame my cars a bit slow.... :( )

You can relocate the sensor - its a bit more involved but entirely possible - the car that Ray Wong now has is a good example.

I was thinking about that the other day if the second 02 port is bunged and the sensor mounted outside picking up the clean air then should be good

When Drb5 had Nizans old car (now Rays) he contacted a supplier and got the appropriate sensor and had it machined into the system - problem solved.

Im in two minds as to have a decat fitted now or not... we'll see. Gonna lose the HKS torpedo first I think and then decide.

As far as im aware mine has the 2 02 sensors one beofre the cat and one after the cat measuring the difference but as its a decat and there is no difference in the emissions the light comes on so if the secondary sensor is not mounted in the system the light should go off
