2002 / 51 Plate Celica

Last night I viewed a private sale Celica (2002 / 51 plate) which was advertised as a 190 sport pack.

When looking over all the paperwork, the original sales invoice states: Celica 190 Premium and listed under extras there is: Rear spoiler.

The car has the following: Leather / Sunroof / aluminium pedals.... spoiler (optional extra) as above and 16" wheels (I was expecting it to have 17’s)

As I dont know what the spec/features of a premium pack was for 2002, can anyone confirm that this car isnt a sport pack...... did the 2002 sport pack have 17s?

Would a Sport pack be of similar value to a Premium pack at todays values?

question ! question !

Any help appreciated

Steve

Ok mate from the chassis number you sent me the car should be a 190 premium pack

to which if i remember was leather, sunroof and climate control, yours isnt a 190 Sport

Where as a sport pack would have 17" wheels and a rear spoiler

Chris,

Many thanks, that info is much appreciated.

The car is in excellent order, I guess what we need to determine is what the difference in value is between the Premium and Sport packs.... as the car has been priced to book price for the sports pack. Would the Premium pack fetch the same kind of value???

Steve it seems like all that your missing is the 17's and from what people say they are prone to bubbling anyway. Also it gives you the excuse to get some nice shiney ones!!

What does the Premium pack have that the Sport park does'nt????? As that may help you to work out whether or not its worth more or less, if you know what I mean.

Sounds like a nice car other than the slightly misleading description.

Special Red,

Yeah, it does seem that the 17s are possibly the only item missing. I know my confusion over this is the fact that I am new to the Celica range and the varius option packs available  Trouble is reading different things and talking to dealers etc gives different answers! Parkers price guide states that the 190 model had sunroof / climate / aluminium pedals as standard that year....... sounds good, but I am sure that isnt correct

Got a 140 to look at this weekend.... wonder what that will turn ou to be :D

Well the celica range is very confusing especially to insurance companies...lol

Well the 190 came with the 140 premium pack as standard. This includes the following.

Premium Pack

1) Leather front seats, plastic rear ...lol

2) Climate control

3) Sunroof

Also the 190 came with front light covers, Alloy Pedals and 16's as standard.

The option packs are as follows

Sports Pack

1) Rear Spoiler

2) !7's

Dynamic Pack

1) Rear Spoiler

2) 17s

3) Body kit (side skirts and front skirt)

The 140 as Standard

1) 16's

2) Air Con

3) Cloth interior

Has the same option pack as above

These imgages are from TOC!, thanks must go to Njay

The Sport pack 190 are worth a little bit more than standard 190's, but all you are missing are the 17's

How much are you paying if you don't mind me asking and whats the milage.

Did you get to test lift in the 190??

Also make sure it is not an euro import as these will be worth a little less and do not come with the same alarm system as uk.

Many thanks discodave  really useful info.

Looked over the original sales invoice and it is an official UK car.

Actually havent driven the 190 yet as it wasnt taxed - it will be now so just need to arrange another date. Will check out the lift as you suggest...... so we should feel some extra power kick in at the 6k rev area then?

The 190 is up for £10,500 although we know the owners will go to £10,250 (this is when we thought it was a sport pack). Milage is 21k.

.....what do you think? Fair price?

Cheers

Steve

Theres a guy on the celica club selling his G7 Ts in Blue 22k with full dynamic body kit for about 11k, also it is the facelift model with two tone leather interior and rear seats.

It is just 3 years old as he is considering extending his warranty.

Lovely looking car on 18's and slight tint to windows.

Have you joined the celica club yet?

This is the car I would go for.
