Nuts Nuts Nuts Nuts Nuts (and Soft Centres)

:ffs:

Hello again guys.

Following previous listings, I've now successfully got some new wheels and tyres, and have spot welded the tyres to the wheels so they won't come off. I think this is the correct procedure?

However, getting the wheels attached to the car has been a bit of a trauma.

My local Toyota dealer was good enough to confirm that I had genuine Team Dynamics wheels (as fitted as an optional extra to celica's in days gone by) but then told me he didn't have any wheel nuts to fit!! He also told me that he didn't know which wheel centres to order for the wheels.

I thought I'd got a bargain with the wheels, but it turns out it would have been cheaper to buy a new car and build a garage to stick it in.

QUESTION is - has anyone any idea of the part number for the wheel centres for the 12 spoke team dynamic wheels (they are the big centres that cover all 5 nuts). Or - anyone got any??

(I have ordered the nuts from - of all people - Ford)

Wheel nuts can be got from most alloy wheel places .. I paid about £30 for 20 the other week.

Best thing to do is go down to one and they should be able to get the other bits you need.

Hi, thanks for that.

I've tried a few places and the problem is that they are tapered at the end because the hole on the wheel is also tapered. Ford think they have solved the problem, so I just need the wheel centres now.

If I can't get any centres to fit I might nip down to Asda and get a couple of pies and use the foil dishes instead. :D

There are two types (density) of thread, 1.5 and 1.25. And three types of hole, flat, tapered, and acorn.

Most aftermarket are Tapered (40 degrees or something .. )

Have you looked at Team Dynamics website?

Thanks for the info. I've now sent off an e-mail to Team Dynamics and await their reply.

Cheers
